AMAZON ADVENTURE PLAN

4 Nights / 5 Days

DAY 1 – Witoto Community and Cultural Night in the Maloca

Arrival in Leticia and ground transfer to a Witoto community.
Jungle walk along traditional paths to observe flora, fauna, and local crops such as coca, plantain, and bitter cassava.
Visit to the maloca for recognition of culturally significant plants.
Night walk to observe nocturnal wildlife and bioluminescent fungi.
Cultural talk about Witoto traditions.
Dinner and overnight in hammocks with mosquito nets inside the maloca.

 

DAY 2 – San Pedro Community and Tekuna Lodge

Breakfast and long jungle hike to the Ticuna community of San Pedro, with observation of ethnobotanical species and fauna.
Cultural exchange with community residents.
Boat navigation through Yahuarcaca creek to Tekuna Lodge (only during high-water season).
Arrival, lunch, and rest.
Traditional canoe tour through Yahuarcaca lakes and flooded forest.
Swimming activity in the lakes.
Overnight at Tekuna Lodge.

 

DAY 3 – Cocama Community, Monkey Island & Jungle Overnight

Breakfast and departure to Puerto Alegría (Peru) to learn about Cocama culture and traditional dances.
Visit to Monkey Island to observe local primate groups.
Transfer to Amazon Açaí Lodge and lunch.
Deep jungle hike (approx. 3 hours) to Tapiri camp.
Camp setup, dinner, and overnight in hammocks with mosquito nets.
Night of Amazon stories, myths, and legends.
Optional: nocturnal jungle walk.

 

DAY 4 – Return to the Lodge & Dolphin Watching

Breakfast in the jungle.
Return to the Lodge via jungle trail (low-water season) or by kayak along the Guakarí River (high-water season).
Lunch at Amazon Açaí Lodge.
Boat outing on the Amazon River for observation of pink and gray river dolphins.
Dinner and rest.

 

DAY 5 – Return to Leticia & City Tour

Breakfast and speedboat transfer to Leticia.
City tour of Leticia and Tabatinga (market, artisan galleries, border area, commercial district, and Comara viewpoint).
Transfer to the airport.

It is essential to carry valid identification:

  • National ID card (adults)

  • Identity card or birth certificate (minors)

  • Parental authorization when only one parent is traveling and the program requires crossing borders

  • Passport or foreign ID card for foreign visitors or residents

 

It is recommended to have the international yellow fever vaccination certificate (applied at least 10 days before travel) and the tetanus vaccine.
Vaccinations are a preventive suggestion, not mandatory.

 

Bring your medical assistance card, health insurance ID, or pre-paid health plan.

  • If you are vegetarian, vegan, or have dietary preferences, please inform us before your trip and notify your guide at the beginning of the tour.

  • If you have food allergies or animal allergies, notify the agency and your guide before starting the activities.

  • If you suffer from phobias, especially those related to animals, inform your guide before the tours.

  • Bring any prescribed medications you may need.

  • Bring a camera with extra batteries.
