AMAZON PLAN AT LIMIT

4 Nights / 5 Days

DAY 1 – Arrival in Leticia & Start of Jungle Crossing (Leticia – Nainecuema Reserve – Tucuxira River)

Arrival in Leticia and road transfer to Km 18.
Begin a deep jungle hike with Yagua indigenous guides, learning about medicinal plants, animal tracks, and forest dynamics.
Visit to a natural “salty” area where wildlife gathers.
Lunch during the trek.
Setup of jungle camp, dinner, and overnight in hammocks with mosquito nets.

 

DAY 2 – Jungle Survival & Camp

Breakfast and continuation of the Amazon rainforest crossing.
Collection of wild fruits such as copoazú and açaí.
Basic jungle survival instruction (shelter and water).
Traditional lunch (palm worms with cassava).
Trek through hilly forest terrain and small ravines.
Camp near the creek; opportunity for a refreshing bath.
Artisanal fishing, dinner, and a night of Amazon stories and legends.
Overnight in hammocks.

 

DAY 3 – Arrival at Nainecuema Reserve & Cultural Visit

Breakfast and hike to Nainecuema Reserve and Tucuxira River.
Demonstration of rubber latex extraction and traditional plant use.
Basic survival instruction (fire and food).
Lunch and rest in the reserve.
Visit to Santa Sofia community, artisans’ house, and Nuevo Jardín maloca.
Dinner and accommodation in cabins with mosquito nets.

 

DAY 4 – Kayak Expedition on the Tucuxira & Amazon Rivers (40 km)

Early breakfast and kayak departure from Nainecuema.
Visit to El Progreso Ticuna community.
Paddling along Tucuxira River through flooded forest landscapes.
Kayak along the mighty Amazon River toward the tri-border point (Peru–Colombia–Brazil).
Lunch at Flor de Loto Nature Reserve.
Kayak through Yahuarcaca Lakes to Leticia.
Transfer to Waira Suites Hotel and dinner.

 

DAY 5 – City Tour & Return

Breakfast and city tour in Leticia and Tabatinga (market, handicraft galleries, border area, commercial zone, Comara viewpoint).
Transfer to the airport.

It is essential to carry valid identification:

  • National ID card (adults)

  • Identity card or birth certificate (minors)

  • Parental authorization when only one parent is traveling and the program requires crossing borders

  • Passport or foreign ID card for foreign visitors or residents

 

It is recommended to have the international yellow fever vaccination certificate (applied at least 10 days before travel) and the tetanus vaccine.
